Terri Sullivan
Terri Sullivan, a practice-based researcher from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the Howland Chair at the University of Minnesota Extension Youth Development Center, will synthesize learning from youth development researchers and practitioners to map:
· Definitions for Youth Engagement being used across the field of youth development;
· Goals which youth engagement efforts are designed to achieve; and
· Strategies to achieve those goals.

Wendy Wheeler
As president and a founder of the Innovation Center for Community and Youth Development, Wendy seeks out, nurtures, and brings to scale exceptional strategies to support young people, strengthen communities, and promote social justice. In her presentation, she will address insights about promising practice gleaned from her work with organizations where youth are learning and leading as partners in democracy. These research based practices illustrate the critical role that community based agencies can play as supporters and facilitators of civic youth engagement and their positive results for youth.
